Fintech Rule Tracker methodology
How Fintech Rule Tracker selects, combines, normalizes, and presents public records.
Inputs and coverage
Fintech Rule Tracker uses only the declared public source contracts for Federal Register API. Each source binding pins an official endpoint family, response-contract version, authentication reference, request budget, attribution, and licence note. The expansion configuration remains a draft until an authenticated live probe confirms the source contract and a bounded ingest demonstrates that the free-tier quota supports the configured scope. No unavailable field is invented, inferred from unrelated providers, or silently substituted. Additional normalized records may remain in private snapshots while the public static surface is capped at five thousand permanent record pages.
Composition and normalization
The composition mode is single. Records are normalized into stable identifiers, source URLs, record dates, titles, values, and categories before composition. Union feeds preserve source identity and deduplicate only under the declared compatibility contract. Left joins use declared normalized keys and a bounded temporal tolerance; a primary record remains visible when enrichment is absent and carries an explicit missing-enrichment state. Every binding keeps its own cursor and provenance. Large responses are streamed through bounded batches and staging indexes instead of being retained as a complete in-memory primary or lookup dataset.
VUGA value-add
After source fields pass schema checks, VUGA applies renderer-specific, deterministic transformations. Tables add a grouping label, change status, recency, and significance score. Ledgers add event classification, age or deadline distance, and significance score. Dashboards add latest value, absolute and percentage change, trend direction, percentile where the source supports a valid comparison group, and significance score. These derived fields organize public records; they are not official source findings. Medical data makes no diagnosis or individual-risk claim, crime data does not rank agencies, financial data makes no recommendation, and FEMA data is not an official flood determination.
Refresh, limitations, and corrections
The configured schedule includes deterministic jitter and per-source quota enforcement. Retry and exponential-backoff behavior respects published rate limits, stops on quota exhaustion, and preserves the prior active snapshot on failure. A snapshot is promoted atomically only after stable identifiers, required-field coverage, row-count continuity, attribution, source URLs, and value-add outputs pass validation. Identical content keeps a stable checksum and modified date. Source corrections can change historical values, and missing enrichment remains missing rather than being imputed. Preview artifacts are noindex, nofollow, suppress IndexNow, and cannot authorize a production expansion.
